The 'Land of Many Waters Gallery' at Batemans Bay Visitor Centre is gearing up in preparation of the Eurobodalla River of the Art Festival in May.
April is the start of another 12 week rotational display of work for Eurobodalla Artists and Groups at the 'Land of Many Waters Gallery'.
The exhibition currently features; Grace Paleg, EFTAG, Ian Lakey, Print Central, Ken Taber, Gary Bell, Geoff Payne, Norma Holt and Wattle Bark (Jenny Buckley), however more spots are available for those interested in joining and exhibiting over the next few weeks.
In support of the River of the Art Festival the gallery will be holding an ‘Evening With The Artists’ on Monday May 23rd from 5pm to 7pm, with an open invitation to meet with the exhibiting artists and enjoy refreshments.
Two artists currently featured in our gallery, Geoff Payne and Gary Bell, have been great supporters of the gallery, regularly updating their displays and keeping visitors impressed with their skills.
Geoff Payne who has been a part of the art fraternity for many years now, exhibits in public buildings, clubs and galleries. Geoff’s work is extremely popular with the public, so we are proud to have his support and exhibit his work.
In his work, Geoff aims to show the beauty of the world, the moods of the day and the spiritual relationships in nature. This can be seen in his current display which reflects the beauty of Batemans Bay’s coastline and provides calming sustenance for your senses.
Gary Bell, who became a member of our gallery last year, is a very popular artist. Gary’s work is quirky, fun and quintessentially Australian. Since childhood he has pursued the illustration and recording of colonial Australian architecture and lifestyle in pen and ink drawings (an early colonial art form). More recently, Gary has begun painting in acrylic and other coloured medium. He has had three sketchbooks published on historic Australian pubs and his illustrations are featured in several other publications and Australian calendars. His book ‘Historic Pubs around Sydney’ is currently on display and for sale in the gallery.
The exhibition space is only available to members of Eurobodalla Coast tourism and we are always on the lookout for local artists and groups. Spaces are available in our current exhibition.
