You Don't Need Luck Fishing On The Costa Catcha Plenty.
Sports fishermen are a passionately selective lot. They guard their secret fishing places while happily taking every opportunity to boast of their greatest catches. It’s this contradiction in their character that makes them such interesting conversationalists, and even better conservationists. Particularly here in Eurobodalla. Our coast is well known as one of the most generous (which means lots of people catch lots of fish) fishing destinations in the country, but it’s become even better, since being designated as the Batemans Marine Park. Now the breeding grounds, like the sponge gardens, kelp beds, mangroves, and seagrass habitats have been protected, while still leaving over 80% of the Park available for recreational fishing. So there are now more fish than ever for you to catch today, and at the same time we’re making sure there’ll be plenty for your grandchildren to catch in the future. In fact, if you can think of a good eating fish, or one that’ll give you a good run for your money, you can catch it around here. In the estuaries you’ll get black bream, whiting, mulloway and big dusky flathead. Off the beaches there are plenty of good sized tailor, salmon, and gummy sharks. In shore, many reefs are host to a smorgasbord of edible species such as kingfish, snapper and the prized Tassie Trumpeter. Out further, on the Continental Shelf, are the big game species such as blue, black and striped marlin, yellowfin tuna, albacore and a variety of shark species. The truth is, wherever you choose to wet a line around here you’ll catch some decent fish. Booking Your Next Catch Whether you’re after some serious big game or just a bucketful for the barby, we can help you with advice, equipment, accommodation, hiring a dinghy, or booking a fishing experience with one of our many well established, professional fishing charters. The only thing we don’t provide is luck, because down here you don’t need any. To book your next catch contact our Visitor Information Centres. It goes without saying that a place called the Land of Many Waters would have outstanding fishing options and locations, but we’ve listed some of the best to help you plan your next fishing trip.
Regardless of how you fish we’ve got you covered from Reef, Offshore and Big-game to Estuary, River and Inlet.
